This article sheds some light on how Dove manages to pretend to be progressive, whilst promoting regressive attitudes towards beauty and the worth of women.
It’s crazy how an ad can be so sneaky - telling women to be less harsh on themselves, while ending with an explicitly stated message about beauty: “It couldn’t be more critical to your happiness.”
